Each home fully equipped with amenities to meet the needs of vacation and business travelers:
- Stay Connected and Entertained:
wireless (high speed) internet access, satellite TV (individual controls in each room of the Lodge), VCR/DVD player, portable radio and CD player,
games and puzzles for everyone, and at the Lodge there is also a 2nd TV/VCR/DVD upstairs (no satellite hook-up, but great for
watching movies from our video library), books on local history for everyone, and kids' story books
- Tons of Outdoor Equipment:
Binoculars, beach chairs, and adult and kids' bicycles (and helmets!) There's very little traffic, so biking, walking, and roller-blading are lots of fun.
- You Won't Go Hungry:
LP BBQ Grill, fully equipped kitchen for the gourmet cook, including dishes,
silverware, standard cooking utensils, pots & pans, most small appliances (blender,
bread maker, coffee maker, microwave, and toaster oven),
and some cooking basics (coffee/tea, sugar, salt/pepper, oil/cooking spray).
There's also a booster seat for a toddler.
- Stay Warm and Cozy:
All towels, quality linens, and bedding are provided; alarm clock, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, and washer/dryer.
And, if needed, we offer 1 Graco portable crib.
- Enjoy complimentary breakfast goodies: To help you get started the first couple of days, you'll find some supplies in the fridge, including coffee/tea, muffin/bread mixes, and orange juice.
- Explore the Neighborhood:
1/2 mile of undeveloped waterfront is just outside your front door, private river beach, nearby wildlife areas are
great for birdwatching and enjoying the protected Columbian White Tail Deer who live on Puget Island.
- Escape to wide open spaces! With only 4,500
people in Wahkiakum County, there's lots of elbow room! Out here, the nearest
neighbor is 1/4 mile away. Take a deep breath of fresh air, watch the sun or moon
rise over the pastures, and watch the big ships traveling on the river. On a clear night, you can see the Milky Way and 1000's of stars you probably never saw before!
Experience Washington Farm Life and Local History
- Come tour the farm, visit the animals, or search for fresh eggs!
Homesteaded in the late 1800's by a local Norwegian fishing family, this farm has been a dairy and
a sheep ranch. Now, the vacation rental owner lives on the farm and there are cattle (and sometimes sheep and
goats) in summer and fall, migrating geese in winter, and chickens, barnyard cats, barn owls, deer, eagles, and osprey year round.
- Interested in buying pastured poultry, other meat, and fresh produce directly from the farmer? We are familiar with a
number of free-range, grass-based farms in the Southwest Washington region who specialize in grass-fed
beef, pork, chicken, goat, eggs, and fresh flowers and vegetables. Their animals are raised in healthy,
natural, stress-free settings for people who want to eat healtheir. Their top quality food will remind
you of "the flavors of times gone by."

Great for Weekend Getaways, Family Vacations, and Small Groups
- These 3-bedroom waterfront homes are ideal for family vacations (kid friendly!), country getaways with friends, romantic weekends, a private, tranquil retreat for writers, artists, and photographers, a delightful setting for family reunions or getaways "with just the girls," a central home for travel through scenic southwest Washington, or for Lewis & Clark and other history buffs, and birding, wildlife, kayaking, bicycling, and fishing enthusiasts.
- We partner with owners of other, local vacation home and cabin rentals, B and B's, motels, and caterers to accommodate larger groups. This region is popular for small corporate retreats, women's retreats, small church groups, and other informal groups looking for a vacation getaway via bicycle,
kayak, or canoe, on topics such as birds, wildlife, conservation, photography, painting, regional heritage, local historical sites, or retracing the steps of the Lewis & Clark Corps of Discovery Expedition.
