As the owners of the vacation rental homes at RiverMile39, it has been a pleasure to meet many of our guests and their wonderful families. We treasure the stories they have shared in the guestbook in each home. The Lodge, 2007 Thank you for allowing us to share the beauty of God's creation that surrounds the Lodge - the wildlife, the river, the rain, the fog. All pretty uncommon features for desert people! Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful Lodge. Very comfortable, love the view, and nicely done extras (maps, info, bikes, supplies...) Everyone we met on our bike rides was smiling and so were all of us The salmon we caught were icing on the cake! It was really nice to have such a beautiful place to com to after a long day of motorcycle riding. Thank you so much for another wonderful stay at the Lodge...The Farmer's Market was a treat... The best food was at the Riverview - their bacon cheeseburger was the best I had ever tasted! We love the house. It is beautiful and immaculate and stocked with everything you need. The views are wonderful and it was fun to see the ships go by, and we got to see a deer eating grass near the deck. The beds are comfy and I love the warmth of the woodstove, after coming in from the cool rain this weekend. ... What a great retreat. Enjoy these words inspired by this place, a haiku to the river: Wind in trees a symphony, Birds sing dawn's chorus, Sun dances on leaves. We had such a restful and relaxing time with our family! Our daughter loved feeding the chickens, gathering eggs, and picking peas in the garden. The video, "The Natural History of the Chicken" is a MUST SEE! Thanks for another great weekend. This was the perfect spot for vacation, just as it was the perfect spot for our wedding 1 year ago. We spent the day on our Harley Davidson Electra Glids in the rain all the way from Quinalt. We got here and found paradise!!! Thank you for sharing this beautiful, serene place. Can't wait to bring our grandchildren and children! Wonderful place! Our wedding guests really enjoyed the house, bike rides, the view, the accommodations, and the fresh eggs! The 5 of us have been friends since Kindergarten. We have been going on "girls' weekends" for 15 years. The Lodge is the first place we have found where we ALL agree that we would like to return. Motivated by our scrapbooking leader, we ventured to this beautiful place to scrapbook and enjoy each others' company. ... Always remember to "crop 'til you drop." We plan on making this our annual tradition, because this place is FABULOUS! Thanks so much for providing such a lovely respite. The FarmHouse, 2007 We had a fun time here; it was a blast....We really like this house - it's nice and simple, yet cozy and makes us feel like we're at home. I love the bed - it was really nice and comfortable. Such a comfortable home to be in. Enjoyed fresh eggs for breakfast. Sleeping was nice and quiet. Even though the weather is misty, it is a very restful place. I really like staying in the comfy and welcoming house. Thank you for the games upstairs - we used them. Your farm is really interesting and I liked feeding the chickens! Our little boy was delighted to see chickens and cows for the first time in his life. And racoons and osprey. And herons. We had a delightful visit. The Lodge, 2006 Thanks. It was great! We love your chickens. The river rose above the rip-rap! Happy New Year! We had a great time. It was good to come back to Luxury after a day on the boat. There is no place quite like the Lower Columbia River for scenery and a place of history. Your home is very well equipped with all the extra's that make a comfortable vacation home a memorable time that I will cherish forever! Thank you for all the memories. The house is beautiful and people of Washington and Oregon have treated us with so much kindness. Waking up every morning to such a beautiful view makes it hard to leave. We are 3 couples who came with lots of toys: kayaks, kites, and bikes. We used them all. Met lots of locals. What a great place. Thanks for the wonderful place to retreat with friends! The memories!! We stayed in the FarmHouse 2 years ago and wondered if this trip would be as good as our memories. We made many, many more. 3 generations and 2 boats. Everyone happy and doing their favorite things. What fun to be had and enjoyment to be treasured. We LOVED every minute in this beautiful place! We leave refreshed, relaxed, and recharged. My sister and brand-new brother-in-law could not have picked a more perfect place for their wedding and all-too-short honeymoon. The ceremony was beautiful and greatly enhanced by the setting. Afterwards, sunny, breezy afternoons on the beach made for a utopian honeymoon for them and a welcome vacation for the rest of us, their guests. P.S. We found it highly difficult to motivate ourselves to leave. It was fun exploring a new part of Washington - and yet, not so far from home. We visited Gray's River Covered Bridge and Diffy's Pub (their scrumptious deep dish apple pie and ice cream). Lunch in Cathlamet's Bradley House was wonderful. The FarmHouse, 2006 We had a fantastic time. The house is perfect. The location - well, perfect, too. We were able to do day trips and come "home" to this wonderful place. Second visit was even more fun. Sunshine, deer, and even an engaging fun time playing board games. Karen should have been a farmer... we could never get enough cows to beat her in the game, "Life on the Farm." I had a fun time and my dad heard an owl.Rachel, age 7 We loved playing golf and just being lazy. This is our third peaceful summer here at what is becoming our second home. Every summer, the kids ask if we can go to "our farmhouse." We love the fresh veggies from your garden, the delicious eggs, and apples from your tree. The fawn was a special treat this year and seeing her up close was an opportunity us city folk don't often have. We love it out here. It was fun feeding your chickens, watching the eagles and hawks, catching glimpses of the fawn, seeing the bucks. Thanks, too, for the fresh eggs. It was hard to crack them with their beautiful colors! My personal favorite thing was picking apples in the yard and making apple sauce, baking apple pie, etc. We can highly recommend a visit to Astoria. The Flavel House was a hit. It was great fun to make that trip with the small ferry boat (it reminded us of the small ferry boats in Holland).
